THEATRICAL SKILLS WORKSHOPS

The Theatrical Skills Workshops of Chicago Spotlight, Inc. are the newest addition to the services available and continue their mission of educating theatre students, teachers and staff of the most current technology and techniques available for their theatre programs and how to maintain safe theatre environments.

Who should participate in these workshops?

  • Teachers/staff who direct students in all of the aspects of theatrical skills.

  •  

  • Students who would like to enrich their own theatre experience and bring that new knowledge to their school's theatre program.

What is included in each workshop?

Two Components:

  • 1) Background on materials, techniques and ideas for creative use.
  • 2) A practical "hands-on" time for participants

Detailed plans with objectives for learning.

Health and safety will be addressed.

Information on current materials and equipment being used in theatre.

Additional resources on the topic for further reference or research by students and teachers.

Presenters who are experienced industry professionals and/or educators who bring a depth of knowledge to the subject and are eager to share the love of their theatre craft with theatre students and teachers.

Cost

Our mission is to make these workshops reasonable in cost to encourage participation.

Registration is only $8.00 per participant.

Chicago Spotlight, Inc. is underwriting all other costs associated with the workshops.

Registration

To ensure the effectiveness of "hands-on" participation, each workshop will be limited in the number of participants.

Registration must be completed by one month before the workshop. You can register as soon as possible to secure your spot.

Please limit your participation to no more than 10 from your school.

A teacher/staff member must attend with the students.

A non-refundable registration fee must be paid to hold your spot for a workshop.

Exact locations of workshops not listed will be available on this website by August 1, 2008.

All workshops are on Saturdays and will generally run from 9:30am - 4:00pm. Lunch will be provided. Workshops at Chicago Spotlight, Inc. will take place at their showroom and shop located at 1658 W. Carroll Ave., Chicago, a few blocks from either I-290 or I-94.
